At this session, attendees can go through various exercises to start getting to know each other for real. They will be discussing the ‘big dream’ and ‘big goals’ of the participants and look for triggers that could help take action to reach these dreams and goals. Moderators will facilitate real connections and explore how attendees can help each other in taking the next steps.

They will explore how The B!G Idea is bridging the gap between industry and education and how to get involved as a Mentor or Partner for 2022.

Reflective discussion with experts and practical case studies
This reflective session will look at perspectives on inclusive innovation, including reflections from academics, laypeople and technologists.
An expert from Siemens will present their case study on working with visually-impaired people, while an expert from De Montfort University (DMU) will share their knowledge on working with families in disadvantaged localities. These case studies will be followed by insights from a technology journalist with expertise on gender issues and ethics in technology.

Using the dynamic and fun Pecha Kucha storytelling format, speakers will present their vision for our responsible future, followed by a discussion with the Youth Panel, where young participants will challenge the experts’ views. To dive into deeper conversations on Smart Health, Smart Home and living with Smart technologies, the session will be followed by smaller group conversations with the experts.

The Youth Panel:
Melina Matzawrakos works as a Junior Researcher at the Competence Center for Social Entrepreneurship at the Vienna University of Business and Economics and heads the Vienna chapter of Oikos International.
Julian Lo Curlo is a Global Development student at the University of Copenhagen and a member of the Nordic Council of Ministers' Expert Group for Sustainable Development. Reine Spiessens works as Project Officer at the WWF Belgian Alliance for Climate Action (BACA) and is Belgian UN Youth Delegate on Sustainable Development.
Lucija Tacer is studying law at the University of Ljubljana and works as a student intern at the Transparency International Slovenia and a legal intern at the Law office Fabiani, Petrovič, Jeraj, Rejc.
