Vita is an Irish NGO that is in the business of creating sustainable, climate smart livelihoods with rural communities in East Africa.
Empowering the people of East Africa through community-led development based on equality and sustainability, and tackling climate change by transitioning to renewable energy and leveraging existing resources, has been the driving force behind Vita’s work.
Ciara Feehely joined Vita in 2015 after having been on the board for several years. After many years in senior communications roles ranging from RTE to EirGrid, she moved Vita because she recognised that new models of development coupled with pioneering thinking would be crucial to meet the challenges presented by climate change. Vita’s community-led models and innovative carbon financing are delivering at a scale where traditional models can’t.
A proud Cork woman, Ciara has lived in Dublin for the last 30 years.
