Markus Hametner

Senior Researcher, Vienna University of Economics and Business

Markus Hametner is Senior Researcher and Project Manager at the WU Institute for Managing Sustainability.

He holds a Master’s degree in Ecology from the University of Vienna (AT) with a specialisation in Environmental Economics and Management from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (AT).

His research areas include monitoring and evaluating sustainable development (by means of SD indicators), strategic approaches to sustainable development (SD strategies & SDGs) and corporate sustainability (including CSR and RRI). He has more than 10 years experience in coordinating EU-funded projects for clients such as Eurostat, DG Research & Innovation, the Committee of the Regions or research funded by the EU’s research framework programme (FP7, Horizon 2020).

His current research activities focus on monitoring the EU’s progress towards the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, studying the societal impacts of the EU’s research & innovation activities, as well as assessing the business case for Responsible Innovation.
